Scott Horr's fight against GIST cancer ended January 17, 2012. He was involved in several FDA clinical trials at Dana-Ferber Hospital in Boston after approved medicine failed to work. Scott held a yearly non-profit fundraiser raising thousands of dollars for GIST.org.
He received an award from GIST.org in 2011 for his efforts. He wanted to do everything he could to get one step closer to a cure. An upstanding citizen, Scott taught Hunter Safety courses for NYS, became President of SAA (Scottsville Athletic Association) after years of managing his Daughter Christina's baseball teams and was an admired employee of Billitier Electric.
He cared and inspired everyone he met… and it was said his smile was contagious. Scott's dying wishes were to walk his daughter down the aisle and become a grandfather, both of which happened.
He passed away with is first grandson Drew Scott-Irwin Banker in his arms and his soul lives in in Drew's eyes.
The emptiness left in his families broken hearts will heal in time leaving behind a huge scar, never to be forgotten, Scott Christopher Horr.
